Daily Maintenance:
• Shake White Ink: If your printer uses white ink, remove and gently shake the cartridges more than 20 times before powering on to prevent pigment settling.
• Cap & Wiper Cleaning: Wipe down the rubber wiper blades and the edges of the ink caps using a Mimaki cleaning swab and recommended cleaning fluid to prevent ink buildup.
• Print Head Surrounds: Clean the perimeter of the printhead, as well as the media sensors and platen.
• Run Test Draws: Always run a nozzle check and perform light cleaning before starting your production day.
Weekly Maintenance:
• Waste Ink Check: Check and empty the waste ink tank as needed, then reset your waste ink counter.
• Ink Discharge Channel: Clean the platen and the waste ink discharge channel using the designated maintenance fluid.
• White Ink Maintenance: Perform a dedicated "White Maintenance" cycle via the printer's operation panel.
Monthly & Long-Term Maintenance:
• Lubrication: Lightly lubricate the carriage rail to ensure smooth movement.
• Pinch Rollers & Filters: Inspect and wipe down pinch rollers. Check the exhaust and mist filters, replacing or rotating them when necessary.
• Custody Wash (Vacations): If the printer is sitting idle for more than a week, never shut off the main power. Instead, run the "CUSTODY WASH" function to clean nozzles and ink paths with cleaning fluid so they do not dry out and clog.
